MUHAMMED HUSSAIN.K.M THIS WRIT PETITION (CIVIL) HAVING COME UP FOR ADMISSION ON 08.04.2025, THE COURT ON THE SAME DAY DELIVERED THE FOLLOWING: WP(C) NO. 11756 OF 2025 3 2025:KER:30788 JUDGMENT This writ petition is filed to direct the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Thrissur (‘Commission’ in short), to dispose of C.C.No.226/2018 within a specified time limit. 2. The petitioner’s grievance is that, even though he had filed C.C.No.226/2018 seven years back, the same has not been disposed of by the Commission till date. The pendency of the complaint is causing severe hardship to the petitioner. Hence, the writ petition. 3. When the writ petition came up for consideration on 24.03.2025, this Court had called for a report from the Commission to ascertain the status and reasonable time period required to dispose of the above complaint. 4. In compliance with the directions of this Court, the Commission, by communication dated 03.04.2025 has informed this Court that, complaint would be disposed of within six months’, especially since the opposite party has filed I.A.No.196/2025 to reopen the evidence. WP(C) NO. 11756 OF 2025 4 2025:KER:30788 5. Heard; the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the respondents. 6. On a consideration of facts and materials, particularly the fact that the complaint is pending consideration before the Commission for the last seven years, I am satisfied that the Commission is to be directed to dispose of the complaint expeditiously. In the aforesaid circumstances, I direct the Commission to consider and dispose of C.C.No.226/2018 in accordance with the law and as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within three months from the date of production of the copy of this judgment. The writ petition is ordered accordingly.
