The Petitioner claims that based on the information furnished by him, the Department was able to detect evasion of tax and pursuant thereto, has already recovered an amount of Rs.3.18 crores from the evader. The Petitioner further states that he has been paid Rs.9 lakhs as partial reward, whereas, the remaining reward amount has not yet been released. 2. Learned counsel representing the Petitioner submits that in terms of the policy framed by the Department, the Petitioner is entitled to receive the reward corresponding to the amount recovered by the Department. 3. Keeping in view the aforesaid position, the present Writ Petition is disposed of, while directing the Reward Committee to examine the Petitioner’s claim and pass appropriate order(s) in accordance with the applicable Reward Scheme within a period of one month from today. 5. In the event the Petitioner is found entitled to any further reward amount, the same shall be released to the Petitioner within a period of one month from the date of the order passed by the Reward Committee. 6.
