ORAL ORDER
1. In this writ petition, the petitioner has sought for the following reliefs: a) Issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent No.2 to dispose off the appeal filed by petitioner as per Annexure-E pending on the file respondent No.2 within a stipulated time in the interest of justice and equity. b) Direct the respondent No.2 to consider the representation dated 22.02.2023 and 19.09.2024 i.e., Annexure-A and Annexure-B in accordance with law in the interest of justice and equity. c) Grant such other relief as this Hon9ble Court deems fit in the interest of justice and equity.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as a Bill Collector in Devadurga Municipality, Raichur District, in the year 1998. The Deputy Commissioner, Raichur District, vide order dated 05.10.2018 dismissed the petitioner from service on the allegation that the petitioner was arrested by the Police and was in judicial custody for more than 48 hours in relation to Crime No.319/2018. Against the dismissal order, the petitioner filed an appeal

before the respondent No.2 vide Annexure-E on
19.11.2018. Till today, the appeal has not been disposed of. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.
3. The learned Additional Government Advocate submits that if this Court grants some reasonable time, the appeal filed by the petitioner will be disposed of in accordance with law.
4. Therefore, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of.
5. The respondent No.2 is directed to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner vide Annexure-D in accordance with law, and as expeditiously as possible, not later than three months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. Sd/- (H.T. NARENDRA PRASAD) JUDGE
