By this application, the applicants are seeking quashment of charge-sheet No.42 of 2022 arising out of First Information Report No.0581 of 2021 registered with the MIDC Police Station, Nagpur City for the offence punishable under Sections 498A, 323, 504, 506 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code. 3. It is the case of the prosecution is that, after non-applicant No.2’s marriage, she was subjected to physical and mental harassment at the hand of the applicants, who are the father-in-law and sister-in-law. Thus, on the basis of these allegations, the FIR came to be registered against them. 4. Learned Counsel for the applicants and learned Counsel for non-applicant no. 2 made a joint statement that the matter has been 3 941.J.apl.945.2023.odt settled before the learned Mediator and for the said reasons, non- applicant no.2 does not want to prosecute against the present applicants. 5. Since the parties have settled their dispute before the learned Mediator and the report of the same is filed on the record, continuation of prosecution in such case will not yield any fruitful purpose. Accordingly, we pass the following order : (a) The Criminal Application is allowed. (b) Charge-sheet No.42 of 2022 arising out of First Information Report No.0581 of 2021 registered with the MIDC Police Station, Nagpur City for the offence punishable under Sections 498A, 323, 504, 506 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code, is hereby quash and set aside against the present applicants.
