Upon hearing the Learned Counsel for the petitioner, the Learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents 1 & 2 and Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the third respondent, it can be seen that the grievance of the petitioner is that the land in Survey No.457/2, Ulipuram Village, Kengaavaalli Taluk, admeasuring 1 acre 67 cents belongs to Arulmigu Thonthi Pillayar Thirukovil, Villupuram. It was specifically advertised and given on auction by the Trustee of the said Temple by an auction notice, dated 23.09.2024. 4. Clause No.36 of the said auction is extracted hereunder for ready reference:

Therefore, the grievance of the petitioner is that the land in question namely, Survey Nos.457/2 and 457/3 can never be used by any person for 'Jallikattu' purposes but it should be cultivated. It is also brought to the 3/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
W.P.No.14634 of 2025 notice of the Court, pursuant to the relevant notification that is maintained by the Animal Husbandry Department, the name of the village does not even find place as the approved Village for conducting the 'Jallikattu'
6. In view thereof, this writ petition is disposed of on the following directions: (i) It is now reported that the Jallikattu is going to be conducted on 05.05.2025. Along with the web copy of the order without waiting for the certified copy of the order, the petitioner shall make a representation to the first respondent-District collector. The petitioner shall enclose a copy of the auction notice that is annexed with the writ petition and also the copy of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary Part-II, Section 2, bearing No.12, dated 21.01.2017. The first respondent shall take up the representation for consideration by duly issuing notice to the petitioner as well as the 4th respondent. The first respondent shall decide and pass orders in accordance with law. Considering the urgency that is prayed, the enquiry shall be immediately conducted and orders be passed well before 05.05.2025. The 3rd respondent shall also consider the misuse of the auction premises and shall issue notice to the petitioner as well as the 4th respondent and decide with reference to the lease in accordance with law.
