A case has been registered against the petitioners and others for the offence under Section 20(b)(ii)(C) r/w 8(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. 3. Case of the prosecution, in brief, is that on 27.8.2024, on receipt of credible information about illegal possess-Ion and transportation of ganja, the s.I. of Nallajerla Police Station, along with his staff and mediators, rushed to veeravalli toll plaza, hamlet of Ananthapalli Village, Nallajerla Mandal, and started conducting vehicle checking. At that time, they found one Eicher van bearing registration no.TN 22 AF 8845 going towards Vijayawada. On seeing police, the inmates in the Eicher van stopped the van and tried to escape. Then police apprehended them and on interrogation, they disclosed their identity particulars as that of A2, A4 to A6 and police found 262 kgs of cannabis in the van. The contraband and vehicle, along with other material, were seized under the cover Of mediators report, and the accused were arrested on the same day i.e. on 27.8.2024. a 4. Heard.
