The appellants have filed a present writ petition impugning an order dated 18.09.2025 passed by the learned Single Judge of this Court in Writ Petition No.25649/2025(GM-KEB). 2. The appellants had filed the said petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to the respondents to consider the representations dated 24.08.2022 and 04.03.2025 for rectification of the names relating to electric meters bearing R.R.Nos.EH19641 and 6EH23489 in respect of the property bearing No.3314, 7th Cross, 13th Main, HAL 2nd Stage, Indiranagar, Bengaluru. - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:54455-DB WA No. 1806 of 2025 3. It is stated that the subject property originally belonged to Lt. Col. K.S.Ramaswamy. It is stated that Lt. Col. Ramaswamy and his wife Smt. Dhanalakshmi Ramaswamy had two sons, namely, Sridhar Ramaswamy and Srikanth Ramaswamy. Sridhar Ramaswamy, since deceased, was the husband of appellant No.1 and father of appellant No.2. 4. It is stated that after the demise of Lt. Col. Ramaswamy, the subject property devolved on his widow Smt. Dhanalakshmi Ramaswamy. It is stated that she had executed a Will dated 28.10.2005 bequeathing part of the said property (ground floor, garage, room above garage and second floor of the property) to Sridhar Ramaswamy and the remaining part of the subject property to her other son Srikanth Ramaswamy. It is stated that Smt. Dhanalakshmi Ramaswamy expired on 27.10.2006. Thereafter, Sridhar Ramaswamy executed a gift deed dated 27.08.2009, whereby he gifted 1/3rd share of the subject property to the appellant Nos.1 and 2. Sridhar Ramaswamy expired on 18.11.2018. However, prior to his demise he had bequeathed his 1/3rd share to the appellants. The appellants claim part of the subject property as the legal heirs of Sridhar Ramaswamy. - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:54455-DB WA No. 1806 of 2025 5. It is stated that Srikanth Ramaswamy sold his share of the subject property to one Muniraju and his wife in terms of a registered sale deed dated 22.01.2010. However, said deed also included a room above the garage, which was bequeathed by Late Smt. Dhanalakshmi Ramaswamy to Sridhar Ramaswamy, the predecessor-in-interest of the appellants. This led the appellants to file a civil suit, being O.S.No.1390/2010 before the Civil Court. The same was dismissed and the appeal in RFA No.1939/2023 against the said order, is said to be pending before this Court. 6. There are several disputes raised by the appellants. They also allege that one Muniraju and his wife had fabricated a sale deed dated 24.05.2010, which reflected that Sridhar Ramaswamy had sold his 1/3rd share of the subject property to them. In addition to the action pending in RFA No.1939/2023, it is stated that another suit being O.S.No.3013/2019 is also pending, which relates to the title of the part of the subject property. 7. It is also material to note that the contesting parties i.e., Sri.Muniraju and his wife were not made parties to the writ petition, but they have been impleaded in the present appeal. - 6 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:54455-DB WA No. 1806 of 2025 8. In the aforesaid backdrop, the present controversy relates to the transfer of electricity connections (RR Nos.EH19641 and 6EH23489), which are installed in the subject property. The appellants pray that the said meters/connections be transferred to their exclusive names. The said prayer has been rejected by the learned Single Judge and the electricity connections continue to be in joint names. Given the fact that there is a dispute as to the title of the subject property pending before Courts, the learned Single Judge has declined to accede to the prayer made by the appellants. We find no infirmity in the said decision. 9. The appeal is unmerited and accordingly dismissed. 10. Pending applications stand disposed of.
