GP FOR FINANCE PLANNING (AP) The Court made the following Order : The present Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of the Respondents in not releasing financial assistance of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees ten lakhs only) to the son of the Petitioner Mr. Potla Karthik, as per G.O.Rt.No.174, dated 07.12.2017 read with G.O.Ms.No.29, dated 27.08.2016 despite sanction of funds by the Government under Application ID No.OV2018121152. 2. The case of the Petitioner is that the State Government has introduced various schemes for providing financial assistance to the students, who want to pursue Post Graduation and Ph.D course in US, UK, Australia etc., One of such schemes was introduced by the Respondent No.1 vide G.O.Rt.No.174, dated 07.12.2017 providing financial assistance of Rs. 10,00,000/- to a student who hailed from Economically Backward Classes and the Respondents have to follow G.O.Ms.No.29, dated 27.08.2016 issued by the Respondent No.1 for implementation of the aforesaid G.O.Rt.No.174. The eligibility criteria is that the income of the family of the students shall be less than Rs.6,00,000/- p.a and the candidate applying for the scheme should not exceed 35 years of age. 3. Learned counsel for the Petitioner would contend that as the course is about to commence, the son of the Petitioner went to United Kingdom to pursue his Post Graduation. The Petitioner came to know that the State Level Scrutiny Committee has selected the son of the Petitioner and issued proceeding to the Respondent No.4 for making payment of Rs. 10,00,000/-, but same could not be sanctioned. Due to inaction of the Respondents, the Petitioner made several requests, but in vain. Hence, the present Writ Petition came to be filed. 4. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Social Welfare for the Respondents placed on record the Written Instructions of Managing Director, A.P.State Economically Backward Classes Welfare and Development Corporation, Vijayawada, dated 15.02.2024, wherein it is stated that verification of documents of the Petitioner’s son was completed and he is eligible and requested time to sanction the amount to the Petitioner on receipt of the budget from the Government. 5. As the son of the Petitioner is eligible and entitled to the benefit under aforesaid scheme, the Respondents are directed to release an amount of Rs.10,00,000/- to the son of the Petitioner by name Mr. Potla Karthik, as per G.O.Rt.No.174, dated 07.12.2017 read with G.O.Ms.No.29, dated 27.08.2016, within a period of eight (08) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
