This writ petition is filed aggrieved by the action of the respondents for non-payment of the bills for the works undertaken by the petitioner. 2. Heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Government Pleader for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Finance and Planning, and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent- Corporation. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has executed the work, viz., (i) laying of CC road from Rajeswari House D.No.10-10-263 to Arumgam House D.No.103/830 at VKS layout street-3, in Ward No.06, in Nagari Municipality, vide agreement No.NMC/E1/Agmt.No.186/2023-24, dt.04.12.2023, as entrusted by the 3rd respondent. 4. The learned counsel further submits that the petitioner duly executed the works entrusted by the 2nd respondent. It is further submitted that after execution of the works, the competent authority recorded the progress of the work in M Books. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted a final bill for a sum of Rs.4,01,266/-. It is submitted that the final bills were duly endorsed by the competent authority. However, in spite of 3 W.P. No.26037 OF 2025 Date of order: 23.09.2025 the completion of all procedural formalities, the payment towards the completed work has not been released till date. 5. In reply, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondents 2 and 3 submits that there is no dispute with respect to the completion of the work undertaken by the petitioner and the payment would be made shortly after due verification. 6. Considering the submissions, respondents 2 to 4 are hereby directed to verify and release the payments due payable to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of four (04) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. 8. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. ___________________ JUSTICE HARINATH.N BV
