Premjit, learned counsel appeared for the applicants; Mr. Athouba Khaidem, learned Government Advocate appeared for the State; Mr. S. Suresh, learned counsel for the respondent No. 5 and Mr. M. Devananda, learned senior counsel appeared for the private respondents No. 6 to 21 and 26. The present application has been filed seeking for condonation of delay of 24 days in preferring a connected appeal. It has been vehemently submitted by Mr. M. Devananda, learned senior counsel that the explanation made by the applicants is very vague. However, in the interest of justice, the delay in question can be condoned subject to payment of cost to hear the appeal on merit. Mr. E. Premjit, learned counsel appearing for the applicants is submitting that the applicants are willing to pay cost. After taking into consideration of the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for both parties and also on perusal of the application, we are of the considered view that in the interest of justice, the delay of 24 days in preferring the connected appeal is condoned to hear the appeal on merit.
