ORDER:
This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India with the following prayer for:
“.... a Writ of Mandamus directing protection to the petitioners and to install C.C.T.V. cameras for capturing the election process for the post of President, Mandal Machavaram Mandal, Palnadu District and the respondents, more specifically Praja Parishad, consequently direct respondent Nos. 2 to 5, to Provide adequate police protection to the petitioners until completion of the election process for the post Mandal Praja Parishad, Machavaram Mandal,of President, Palnadu District and to Install C.C.T.V. cameras to monitor and record the entire election process.”
2. Sri S.Rama Lakshman Reddy, learned counsel for the Petitioners would submit that the Petitioners are presently serving as elected members of Mandal Praja Parishad, Machavaram Mandal on behalf of YSR Congress Party. It is further submitted that, in view of the death of the incumbent

President, Mandal Praja Parishad, Machanvaram Mandal, Palnadu District, a notification No.35/SEC-B1/2025-2, dated 04.12.2025 has been issued for the election to the said post which is going to be held on 11.12.2025 at 11.00 a.m.
Learned counsel would further submit that the ruling party leaders have been threatening the Petitioners and their family members to prevent them from participating in the election. Learned counsel would submit that, let there be a direction to the Police to provide police protection to the Petitioners and to install CCTV cameras for capturing the election process.
3. Sri P.Ajay Kumar, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home on written instructions would submit that, as on the date, no specific complaint in writing has been formally lodged by the Petitioners. It is further submitted that, the alleged apprehension is general in nature. It is submitted that necessary Police bundobust and pickets have been arranged to maintain law and order at the election premises. Installation of CCTV cameras is within the statutory domain of State Election Commission and the District Election Authority. It is further submitted that the apprehensions of the Petitioners are being addressed through preventive and bundobust measures. Learned Assistant Government Pleader would submit that they will abide by the directions given by the Court with regard to the installation of CCTV cameras.
4. Sri S.Vivek Chandra Sekhar, learned Standing Counsel for State Election Commission is in attendance.
5. In view of the submissions made, the Writ Petition is disposed of. Petitioners are directed to appear before Respondent No.2 along with their

identity particulars. Respondent No.2 is directed to monitor the movements of the Petitioners at the election premises so as to enable them to participate in the election process of Mandal Praja Parishad, Machanvaram Mandal, Palnadu District which is going to be held on 11.12.2025 at 11.00 a.m, in a peaceful manner, without inviting any untoward incident. Respondent Nos.2 to 5 are directed to install CCTV cameras at the election premises to monitor and record the entire election process. There shall be no order as to costs.
