The subject matter of this writ petition is substantially similar to one in W.P.(C) No.21106 of 2025 between Tapan Kumar Pattanaik & others v. State of Odisha, decided on 30.07.2025. Learned counsel for the petitioner invoking the rule of parity submits, where a litigant is afforded particular relief in a given circumstances, similar litigants cannot be discriminated against by denying such relief. I agree with this view. In the above circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of in terms of the order made in the cognate petition above subject to the said terms & conditions, mutatis mutandis. Now, no costs.
