Since common questions of law and fact are involved in these petitions, therefore they are heard together and are being decided by a common judgment. However, for the sake of brevity, facts of Writ Petition No. 510 of 2025 (SS) alone are being discussed and considered. 3. Petitioners are serving as tube-well operators in Tube-well Division, Bazpur, District Udham Singh Nagar. According to them, tube-well operators, serving in Tube-well Division, Roorkee, are being paid vehicle allowance @ Rs. 2000/- per month, while tube- well operators, who are serving in Bazpur are being paid only Rs. 1200/- per month. 4. In Writ Petition No. 510 of 2025 (SS), petitioners have sought following relief. “Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing the respondents to forthwith pay the amount of vehicle allowances to the petitioners on enhance rate i.e. Rs. 2000/- per month w.e.f. 01.01.2024 alongwith interest, as per directions contained in 2025:UHC:9170 office order dated 13.12.2023 issued by Additional Secretary, Government of Uttarakhand (contained as Annexure no. 1 to this writ petition).” 5. In support of their contention that they are entitled to Rs. 2000/- a month, as vehicle allowance, petitioners have relied upon a Government Order dated 13.12.2023. 6. Learned State Counsel submits that if petitioners have any grievance, then they could have approached the competent authority before rushing to this Court. 7. The writ petitions are, accordingly, disposed of with liberty to petitioners to make representation before the Chief Engineer, Level- 1 (HOD), Irrigation Department, within three weeks from today. 8. If petitioners make such representation within stipulated time, the Chief Engineer concerned shall examine the matter and pass appropriate order, as per law, within four months thereafter. 9. Pending application (s), if any, also stand disposed of.
