The instant petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of directions to official respondents No.2 and 3, to protect the life, liberty and property of the petitioner and his family members, who apprehend threat to their life at the hands of private respondents as they are being threatened with dire consequences. 2. Notice of motion to official respondents only. 3. On asking of the Court, Mr. H.S. Deol, Sr. DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents. 4. In view of the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur, to look into the representation dated 21.04.2023 (Annexure P-3) qua the alleged threat perception and take necessary steps at the earliest, as may be required, in accordance with law, to ensure that the life, liberty and property of the petitioner and his family members is not jeopardized at the hands of the private respondents.
