(ORAL) Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226 Constitution of India, is for issuance of directions to respondents protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7, who are averse to their live in relationship. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioner aged about 19 years, and petitioner No.2 a live in relationship, however, the private respondents members of petitioner No.1, have not been able to accept their live in , as a result of which, they have been continuously extending threats of dire consequences to them. Resultantly, a representation dated (Annexure P-5) was also made to respondent No.2 Superintendent of Police, Jagraon, District Ludhiana life and liberty, but in vain. In view of the above, without commenting upon the status of live in relationship of the petitioners, the present petition is disposed of with directions to respondent No.2-Deputy Superintendent of Police, Jagraon, District Ludhiana to look into the representation dated 21.04.2025 (Annexure P-5) qua the alleged threat perception and take necessary steps, as may be required, in accordance with law, to ensure that the life and liberty of the petitioners is not jeopardized at the hands of the private respondents. However, this direction will have no effect on any civil or criminal action, which could be initiated in the matter in accordance with law.
