Mr. Jasmeet Singh Ghumman, Advocate, has caused appearance on behalf of respondents No.4 to 13 and has filed his Power of Attorney, which is taken on record. 2. Status report filed on behalf of respondent-State, is taken on record. A copy of the same has been supplied to counsel opposite. 3. At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that a cross-FIR has been registered against both parties but he is pressing the present petition only to the extent of seeking protection for life and liberty of the petitioners. 4. At this stage, learned State counsel submitted that so far as the limited prayer of the petitioners with regard to the grant of protection is concerned, in case the petitioners file any application before the concerned SHWETA 2025.05.27 17:54 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CRWP-4065-2025 (O&M) -2- officer citing any threat perception, the respondent-State shall be duty- bound to protect the petitioners after assessing such threat perception. 5. Learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that he will file an application before the DSP of the area concerned and directions may be issued that, in case any such application is filed on the basis of threat perception, the same be considered in a time-bound manner. 6. Learned State counsel submitted that in case any application is filed by the petitioners before the concerned DSP on the basis of threat perception, the same shall be assessed forthwith and in case it is so required then appropriate protection shall be provided to the petitioners in accordance with law. 7. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that in view of the statement made by learned State counsel, the present petition may be disposed of. 8. Disposed of accordingly.
