The Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of the Respondent Nos. 2 and 3 in not considering the case of the Petitioner for promotion to the cadre of 8Rigveda Parayandar Grade-II9 in the Respondent No.3 Temple as illegal and arbitrary. 2. The Petitioner was appointed on 19.07.2017 as 8Rigveda Parayanadar Grade-IV,9 and subsequently, he was treated as a Grade-III Rigveda Parayanadar vide Orders dated 21.08.2020. 3. The grievance of the Petitioner now is that he is entitled to be considered for promotion to the post of 8Rigveda Parayandar Grade-II9 and that instead of promoting the Petitioner, one Soma Shekhara Sharma, Atharvaveda Parayanadar was granted promotion in the vacancy of 8Rigveda Parayanadar Grade-II9. The Petitioner had submitted representations dated 04.09.2025 and 20.11.2025 and the same are not being considered. Hence, the present Writ Petition. 4. Learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that the promotion of Sri Some Sekhara Sharma as 8Rigveda 3 Parayanadar Group-II9 is not being disputed by the Petitioner in the present Writ Petition, and hence, he has not made him a party respondent to the present Writ Petition. He further submits that the Petitioner is to be considered for promotion; the case of the Petitioner may be considered in the existing vacancies of 8Rigveda Parayanadar Grade-II9. 5. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Respondent No.3 submits that the case of the Petitioner will be considered in the existing vacancies without disturbing the promotion of Sri Soma Shekhara Sharma. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Endowments representing the Respondent Nos. 1 and 2 would submit that the representation of the Petitioners would be considered in accordance with the rules in vogue and the seniority of the Petitioner. 6. Heard the respective counsel. 7. As the Petitioner claims to be entitled for the promotion to the post of 8Rigveda Parayanadar Grade-II9, the Writ Petition is disposed of with following directions: 4 i) the Respondents are directed to consider the representations of the Petitioner dated 04.09.2025 and 20.11.2025 for promotion to the post of 8Rigveda Parayanadar Grade-II9 without disturbing the promotion of Sri Soma Shekhara Sharma, who was already promoted as Rigveda Parayanadar Grade-II, in accordance with rules and the seniority applicable. ii) There shall be no order as to costs.
