1 THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE K. SREENIVASA REDDY CRIMINAL PETITION NO: 810 OF 2025 ORDER: This Criminal Petition, under Sections 480 and 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, has been filed by the petitioner/A2, seeking regular bail, in Crime No.202 of 2024 of Sabbavaram Police Station, Anakapalli district. 2. A case has been registered against the petitioner herein and others for the offence punishable under Section 20(b)(ii)(C) read with 8(c), 25 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (for short ‘the NDPS Act’). 3. Case of the prosecution, in brief, is that, on 25.08.2024, at about 15.00 hours, on credible information, the Sub-Inspector of Police, Sabbavaram Police Station, along with his staff and mediators, while conducting vehicle checking at Gullepalli junction, Sabbavaram Mandal, found A1 and A2 in possession and illegal transportation of 912 Kgs of ganja in a lorry bearing registration No.AP 31 TA 4789. Police arrested A1 and A2 and the contraband along with vehicle and other material was seized from their possession under cover of a mediators report and a 2 case has been registered against the accused. The other accused escaped from the spot. 4. Heard. Perused the record. 5. A perusal of the material on record goes to show that the contraband allegedly seized from the possession of the accused is 912 Kgs of Ganja, which is a huge commercial quantity. It is submitted by the learned Assistant Public Prosecutor that the investigation is not yet completed and other accused are to be apprehended. It is also further submitted by the learned Assistant Public Prosecutor that the police have filed an application before the jurisdictional Court for extension of time for completing the investigation. In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner/A2 at this stage. 6.
