(ORAL) Prayer in the present petition is for issuance of direction to respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and to restrain the private respondents No.4 to 7 not to harass or interfere in the peaceful life of the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner has already filed a representation dated 18.04.2025 (Annexure P-2) before respondent No.2, however, no action has been taken on the same till date. Notice of motion to the official respondents only. Mr. Tarun Aggarwal, Sr. DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. After hearing learned counsel for the parties, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 i.e. the Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar to decide the representation dated 18.04.2025 (Annexure P-2) filed by the petitioner in accordance with law within a period of one month from today and grant immediate protection, if any threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner, is perceived. It is being clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioner for legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by him.
