This is a 2019 instituted writ petition in terms whereof the petitioners claiming themselves to be disengaged Village Defense Committee (VDC) Special Police Officers (SPOs) came forward challenging their purported disengagement effected in terms of impugned order No. 300 of 2019 dated 01.07.2019 quashment whereof is sought in the writ petition. 02. A perusal of the writ petition would show that there is no such order obtaining on the record of the writ petition for which the quashment has been sought. Serial No. 82 2 CCP(S) No. 460/2019 c/w WP(C) No. 2534/2019 03. Be that as it may, it seems that with the efflux of time the purpose of the writ petition has been rendered lost to the petitioners to pursue the writ petition for its adjudication on merits. As such, the writ petition is dismissed as having been rendered infructuous by reserving right in favour of the petitioners to seek revival of the writ petition in case if they would reckon still that the writ purpose is surviving to them in the case provided the petitioners come forward with a restoration/revival application within a period of next 90 days with effect from passing of this order. CCP(S) No. 460/2019 04. In the light of the dismissal of the writ petition WP(C) No. 2534/2019, the present contempt petition is also dismissed. Contempt proceedings are dropped.
