ORAL ORDER
1. The prayer in this writ petition is to direct the respondent authorities to extend the benefits conferred under the Government Circular dated 18.1.2017, copy of which is produced at Annexure-A.
2. It is the case of the petitioners that the benefit of the Government Circular dated 18.1.2017 are extended only to those persons who are appointed prior to 2004 under the Government Resolution dated 16.2.2016 and not the persons like the petitioners who are appointed prior to 2004.
3. It is also forthcoming from the pleadings that the claim to extend the the benefits under the Government Circular dated 18.1.2017 has been made by the petitioners by submitting two
C/SCA/8070/2017 ORDER DATED: 16/07/2025 representations dated 6.2.2017 and 7.2.2017, which are produced at Annexure-B (Colly.).
4. In my view, since the representations seeking to extend the benefits under the Government Circular have been made, it would be imperative for the concerned authority, i.e. the respondent No.2 herein, to consider the said claim and pass appropriate orders. This exercise shall be undertaken by the respondent No.2 within a period of FOUR WEEKS from the date of receipt of this order.
5. It is needless to state that if the claim of the petitioner is negatived or is not granted in its entirety, the petitioners shall be at liberty to approach this Court once again.
6. With the aforesaid observations and directions, the present Special Civil Application stands DISPOSED OF. Rule is made absolute to the aforesaid extent.
