In view of the limited prayer made on behalf of the petitioner and as agreed to by both the counsel appearing for the parties, the present writ petition is being disposed of at the motion stage itself. In the present petition, the petitioner is claiming for appointment under the die-in-harness scheme on the expiry of his father who was serving as a Section Officer Grade-I in the PHED Department. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner will be satisfied for the time being if the present writ petition is disposed of by directing the Chief Engineer, PHED, Government of Manipur, to consider the representation dated 17.01.2022 submitted by the petitioner requesting for considering LAIREN MAYUM INDRAJ EET SINGH Digitally signed by LAIRENMAYU M INDRAJEET SINGH Date: 2025.01.21 10:32:34 +05'30' 2 his case for appointment under the die-in-harness scheme in terms of the applicable guidelines and to dispose of the same by issuing appropriate order within a stipulated period. Mr. Th. Vashum, learned G.A. appearing for the respondents, fairly submitted that as the prayer made on behalf of the petitioner is confined to the consideration and disposal of the representation submitted by the petitioner, he has no objection in disposing the present writ petition as prayed for by the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner. Taking into consideration the submission advanced by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, this Court is of the considered view that interest of justice will be served by issuing the following directions:- (i) The Chief Engineer, PHED, Government of Manipur, is hereby directed to consider the aforesaid representation dated 17.01.2022 submitted by the petitioner requesting for considering his case for appointment under the die-in-harness scheme strictly in terms of the applicable guidelines and seniority maintained by the department, if there is any; (ii) The whole process should be completed within a period of 3(three) months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order; 3 (iii) The petitioner is directed to submit a copy of this order along with a copy of the said representation to the Chief Engineer, PHED, Government of Manipur, within a period of 1(one) week from today. With the aforesaid direction, the present writ petition is disposed of. JUDGE Indrajeet
