By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, petitioner has questioned the order of transfer dated 9th April, 2025, whereby he has been transferred from Circle Officer, Peshi Machchalishahar, Jaunpur to Police Station Line, Bazar, Jaunpur within the same district. Learned Standing Counsel submits that this transfer order has been made on attachment basis within the district by general order for administrative exigency. In the considered view of the Court, since petitioner has been transferred within the district, general transfer policy would not be attracted per the Government order, whereby transfers are made from one district to another district. In view of the above, I decline to grant indulgence in the matter. However, it is provided that if petitioner joins at the transferred place and files representation before the competent authority against the transfer order within a period of two weeks from the date of joining, the same shall be considered and disposed of within a further period of six weeks.
