THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE NYAPATHY VIJAY WRIT PETITION No.26052 of 2025 ORDER: The Petitioners are claiming employment under displaced persons quota for the Madduvalasa Reservoir Project Scheme at Vangara Mandal, Vizianagaram District (Erstwhile Srikakulam District). 2. The Government of Andhra Pradesh had acquired the land of the Petitioners for the purpose of Madduvalasa Reservoir Project Scheme at Vangara Mandal, Vizianagaram District (Erstwhile Srikakulam District) in the year 2000. It is stated that as per G.O.Ms.No.98, dated 15.04.1986, the persons whose lands are acquired would be provided for employment by the Government. The Petitioners claimed that their land is acquired, but no employment was provided to them. The Petitioners had submitted a representation to the Tahsildar, Vangara and a letter was addressed thereon to the District Collector, Srikakulam vide Rc.No.128/09-A, dated 09.09.2011.
On receipt of the said letter from the District Collector vide Rc.No.1339/2009 G-3, dated 16.09.2011 addressed a letter to the Superintending Engineer,

Irrigation Circle, Bobbili to forward representations of the Petitioners and to take necessary action in the capacity of Convener, District Selection Committee for providing employment under displaced persons quota. As no further action was taken thereon, the present writ petition is filed. 3. Learned Government Pleader submits that appropriate decision will be taken with regard to the claim of the Petitioners as expeditiously as possible. 4. Heard the respective counsel. 5. The land of the Petitioners was acquired for Madduvalasa Reservoir Project Scheme at Vangara Mandal, Vizianagaram District (Erstwhile Srikakulam District) and Land Acquisition Award Nos.42/2001, 44/2000, 20/1999 and 21/2000 were passed under the erstwhile Land Acquisition Act, 1894. However, no employment was provided to the Petitioners even though the Collector had addressed a letter vide Rc.No.1339/2009 G3, dated 16.09.2011 to the Superintending Engineer, Irrigation Circle, Bobbili to consider the case of the Petitioners in the capacity of Convener, District Selection Committee. 5

In that view, the Respondents are directed to examine the case of the Petitioners for employment under displaced persons quota, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three (3) months from today. 7. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
