1. Heard Mr. Aditya Khare, learned counsel for the applicants. Also heard Mr. Nitansh Jaiswal, learned Panel Lawyer, appearing for the State/respondent No. 1 and Ms. Palak Jindal, learned counsel, appearing for respondent No. 2.
2. The present petition has been filed by the applicants with the following prayers:
“I. That, the Hon’ble Court may kindly be pleased to allow the instant petition under Section 528 of BNSS 2023 filed by the petitioners. II. That the Hon’ble Court may kindly be pleased to quash the FIR bearing No. 343 of 2025 registered on dated 13.10.2025 at Police Station Dabhara District Sakti, Chhattisgarh filed under Section 85 of BNS, 2023.”

Learned counsel for the applicants submits that the marriage between applicant No. 1 and respondent No. 2 was solemnized on 15.07.2004 as per Hindu rites and rituals. Applicants No. 2 and 3 are the in-laws of respondent No. 2. As per the allegations made by respondent No. 2, all the applicants subjected her to continuous mental and physical cruelty in connection with demand for dowry.

It is stated that respondent No. 2 lodged a complaint before the Station House Officer, Police Station Dabhara, District Sakti (C.G.) on 13.10.2025 regarding the alleged conduct of applicants No. 1 to 3. Consequently, an FIR was registered at Police Station Dabhara on 13.10.2025 vide Crime No. 343/2025 for the offences under Section 85 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
5. It is further submitted that the parties have amicably settled their disputes on 10.11.2025, wherein respondent No. 2 has agreed to withdraw the criminal proceedings initiated against the applicants. A copy of the settlement agreement has been placed on record as Annexure P/2.

Learned counsel appearing for respondent No. 2 affirms the
submissions made on behalf of the applicants and admits both the factum and validity of the compromise entered into between the parties.
7. We have heard learned counsel for the parties and have carefully perused the record, including the pleadings, the reliefs sought, and the documents placed on file.
8. In view of the submissions advanced and considering the amicable settlement arrived at between the parties, we deem it appropriate to direct the parties to appear before the concerned Investigating Officer, who shall verify the compromise and submit a police report in accordance with law within a period of three weeks from today.
9. The Superintendent of Police concerned shall ensure that the
4 police report is submitted strictly in accordance with law.
