The petitioner is stated to be the Shahzada Gaddi Nashim of Dargah Hazarat Sayyed Gohar Ali Shah, located at Pul Qutab Road, near Sadar Bazar Railway Station, Delhi. It is submitted that the said dargah has existed since the British era, and every year the petitioner performs the religious ceremony known as “Urs” which includes various rituals and a traditional procession between Dargah Sayyed Gohar Ali Shah and Dargah Hazrat Khwaja Bakibilla Sahab at Singhara Chowk, Delhi. It is submitted that in the year 2024 the petitioner had to approach this Court by way of writ petition being W.P.(C) 16774/2024, pursuant to which directions were issued to the authorities to process the petitioner’s request for holding “Urs”.
