1. By way of filing these petitions, a prayer has been made seeking directions for expeditious disposal of the Criminal Case No.470/2018 pending before the Court of Judicial Magistrate No.4, Bharatpur within a period of three months.
2. The relief sought for cannot be granted by this Court in the light of the judgment passed by the Apex Court in the case A.R. Antulay and Ors. vs. R.S. Nayak and Anr. reported in 1992(1) SCC 225 and in the case of P. Rama Chandra Rao. Vs. State of Karnataka reported in 2022 (4) SCC 578, wherein the Apex Court has deprecated the practice for issuing directions to conduct the trial in a particular timeline.
3. Considering the aforesaid proposition of law, as laid down by the Hon’ble Apex Court in the case of A.R. Antulay (supra) and P. Rama Chandra Rao (supra), the relief sought for, cannot be granted. But looking to the fact that the petitioner is facing trial since last more than eight years, it is expected from the Court concerned to make all possible endeavours to speed up the trial in expeditious way.
4. With the aforesaid observations/directions, both the instant writ petitions stand disposed of. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of.
