Order 01/11/2025
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that an online application was submitted by the petitioners before the respondents for issuing the electricity connection at their residential premises i.e., Plot No.-63, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Nagar-CS, Badarwas, Gopalpura Byepass, Jaipur. It is submitted that Rule 3 of Electricity (Right to Consumer) Rules,2020 provides that after receiving the application for supply of electricity connection, distribution licensee is under obligation to ensure the supply of electricity at the desired place. It is submitted that no action has been taken on the application filed by the petitioners
[2025:RJ-JP:43862] (2 of 2) [CW-16489/2025] despite the fact that respondents are duty bound under section 43 of the Electricity Act,2003 to provide electricity connection within a period of one month after receiving the application. Counsel submits that in these circumstances, legal notice was also served upon the respondents on 15.10.2025, however till date, neither application has been decided nor electricity connection has been provided to the petitioners. Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, this Court deems it just and proper to direct the respondents to pass a reasoned/speaking order on notice for demand of justice sent by the petitioners on 15.10.2025 within a period of one month from the date of submission of certified copy of this order. Respondents are further directed to intimate the petitioners about the decision taken on notice for demand of justice. With the aforesaid directions, this civil writ petition stands
disposed of. Stay application and pending application(s) (if any) also stand disposed of.
