Heard learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the State- respondents. 2. This is a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India wherein the petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction on part of the respondent authority in deciding the application dated 11.11.2024 with regard to the character certificate. 3. Upon hearing the counsel appearing on behalf of the parties and after considering the material available on record, we are of the view that the respondent no.2 should be directed to decide the aforesaid application of the petitioner and pass a reasoned order thereupon. 4. Accordingly, the respondent no.2, Superintendent of Police, District Deoria, is directed to decide the application dated 11.11.2024 filed by the petitioner and pass a reasoned order thereon in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from date, after granting an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. 5.
