Heard learned counsel appearing on behalf of the parties. 2. In the present writ petition following prayers have been made by the petitioner:- "I. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no.2 to issue character certificate to the petitioner by ignoring the case registered in Case Crime No.227 of 2023 u/s 30 of the Arms Act at P.S. Kotwali Nagar, District Banda. II. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no.2 to issue character certificate to the petitioner within stipulated period of time as directed by this Court. III. Any other suitable writ, order or direction, which this Hon'ble High Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case." 3. Upon perusal of documents it appears that the criminal case pending against the petitioner under Section 30 of the Arms Act, for which maximum punishment is six months, as provided for. 4. In light of the same, respondent no.2/District Magistrate, Banda is directed to decide the issue of the petitioner with regard to grant of character certificate sympathetically after granting an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from date. 5.
