ORDER:
This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India with the following prayer for: <…to issue an appropriate writ, order, or direction, more particularly one in the nature of a Writ of Mandamus, declaring the inaction of the 3rd respondent-Circle Inspector of Police, Punganur, in not providing police protection to the petitioners in the event of interference by the 5th respondent with the petitioners’ possession and enjoyment of their property situated in Sy. No.296/9 of Edigapalle Village, Punganur Mandal, Chittoor District, admeasuring East-West 41 feet, North-South 11 feet, despite the directions issued by the 4th respondent in Roc. No. E/03/2025, dated 04.06.2025, as illegal, arbitrary, and violative of Articles 14, 19(1)(g), 21, and 300-A of the Constitution of India, and consequently direct the 3rd respondent to provide necessary police protection to the petitioners to safeguard their possession and enjoyment of the property in Sy. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, on written instructions, would submit that basing on the representation made by the petitioners herein, a crime has been registered against the unofficial respondent in Crime No.162 of 2025 for the offences punishable under Sections 318(4), 351(2) r/w 3(5) of BNS.
