Sangma, R/o Alokdia, P.S. Tikrikilla, West Garo Hills District, Meghalaya …. Respondent(s) 2025:MLHC:529 Coram: Hon’ble Mr. Justice H. S. Thangkhiew, Judge Appearance: For the Petitioner(s) : Ms. D. Mawthoh, Adv. with Ms. E. Pajuh, Adv. For the Respondent(s) : Mrs. T. Yangi B, AAG with Mr. J.N. Rynjah, GA (For R 1-3) Mr. P.T. Sangma, Adv. (For R 4&5) i) Whether approved for reporting in Yes/No Law journals etc: ii) Whether approved for publication Yes/No in press: (ORAL) 1. Heard Ms. D. Mawthoh, learned counsel for the petitioners. 2. Also heard Mrs. T. Yangi B, learned AAG assisted by Mr. J.N. Rynjah, learned GA for the respondents Nos. 1, 2 & 3, and Mr. P.T. Sangma, learned counsel for the respondents Nos. 4 & 5. 3. The grievance of the writ petitioners as projected in the writ petition is that the petitioners were serving as President and Secretary of the Alokdia VEC on being elected since 06.05.2024, and without any reason the State respondents had called for fresh elections, to which the learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that it was due to some 2025:MLHC:529 disgruntled Job Card holders, who had made a complaint. As per the pleadings made in the writ petition, no show cause was given or enquiry conducted to verify the allegations, but that directions were issued to conduct fresh elections and acting upon the said direction, a new VEC has been elected. 4. In the course of the proceedings an affidavit has been filed by the State respondents, where it has come to light that the petitioner herself along with the Secretary had appended their signatures to a resignation letter dated 24.09.2024. It appears that it is on this account a new VEC was constituted, and notified on 06.12.2024. 5. This Court on examination of the materials, it is seen that there is a serious suppression of materials facts in the writ petition, and on this account the same does not deserve consideration and is accordingly dismissed.
