Jyotsna Rewal Dua , J Notice. Mr. L.N. Sharma, learned Additional Advocate General, appears and waives service of notice on behalf of the respondents.
2. This writ petition has been filed for the grant of following substantive relief:-
“ That the respondents may be ordered to reckoned seniority of the petitioner for the purpose of promotion and other service benefits w.e.f. the date the petitioner was appointed on contract basis on 24.11.2008 as Assistant Geologist and he may further be promoted as Geologist as per the rules on completion of 5 years service w.e.f. the date from which the other incumbents were promoted as such with benefits incidental thereof such as seniority, arrears of pay and pay fixation etc.” 1 Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment?

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has preferred a representation dated 21.12.2023 (Annexure P-8) for redressal of his grievances, however, the respondents have not till date decided the said representation. Learned counsel further submitted that the petitioner would be satisfied, in case, he is permitted to submit a fresh comprehensive representation to the respondent/competent authority, whereafter, respondent/competent authority, be directed to decide the representation to be made by him, in a time bound manner. Learned Additional Advocate General has no objection to this prayer.

In view of above submissions but without going into the merits of the case, the instant writ petition is disposed of by permitting the petitioner to make a fresh comprehensive representation to the respondent/competent authority, within a period of two weeks from today, who shall in turn, consider and decide the same, in accordance with law, within a further period of six weeks. The order so passed shall also be communicated to the petitioner. Pending miscellaneous application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of.
