Mr. Harshit Sanwal, learned counsel for the petitioner. 2. Mr. Bhuvnesh Joshi, learned counsel for the respondent. 3. Petitioner is serving as Manager (Quality Control) in Food Corporation of India. He came on transfer to Haldwani on 16.10.2021 and earlier he was posted in the State of Punjab for eleven years. Vide order dated 10.02.2023, petitioner was transferred to Srinagar (Garhwal). Petitioner made representation against his transfer to Srinagar (Garhwal), however, his representation was rejected by General Manager (Region), vide order dated 17.03.2023. 4. In this writ petition, petitioner has challenged the transfer order and also the order dated 17.03.2023, whereby his representation was rejected. 5. This Court vide order dated 28.03.2023 granted an interim order in favour of petitioner by providing that status quo qua petitioner’s posting shall be maintained. Pursuant to said interim order, petitioner is serving at the original place of his posting and he has not been relieved for Srinagar (Garhwal). 6. Mr. Bhuvnesh Joshi, learned counsel appearing for Food Corporation of India submits that normal duration of posting at one place is four years and since 2025:UHC:8214 petitioner has now completed four years at the present place of his posting, therefore, he is now liable to be transferred outside the Region, as per applicable Policy. 7. Since petitioner has completed normal duration of service at Haldwani / Rudrapur, therefore, no useful purpose would be served by keeping the writ petition pending. 8. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with liberty to the Competent Authority to pass fresh order in respect of petitioner, strictly as per law. 9. Interim order dated 28.03.2023 stands vacated.
