JUSTICE R.NATARAJ) The petitioner has sought for a writ in the nature of mandamus to direct the respondents not to interfere in the day-to-day affairs of the petitioner running the recreational club. 2. The petitioner claimed that it is a society registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 and is running a recreation club for its members. It contends that the activities in the club is conducted in accordance with law and that all its members are issued with photo identity cards. It is - 3 - NC: 2025:KHC-K:1309 WP No. 200519 of 2025 contended that some police men attached to the respondent No.5 were visiting the club and were harassing the management and compelling the petitioner to close it down. When the same was questioned by the petitioner, the said policemen informed that they have oral orders and instructions from their higher officers that such recreation clubs should be closed down. It further contends that it has taken all measures to ensure that no illegal activities happens in the club and it has installed CCTV cameras at all strategic locations. It also contends that it is willing to abide by any condition to ensure that the activities in the club are conducted lawfully. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner is entitled to conduct the business in the club in accordance with law and without any interference and intervention by the police. He contends that in similar circumstances, the Coordinate Benches of this Court has passed several judgments permitting the petitioners therein to operate the club and has restrained the police machinery from interfering with the right of the petitioner therein from conducting the activities in the club. - 4 - NC: 2025:KHC-K:1309 WP No. 200519 of 2025 4. Learned Additional Government Advocate does not dispute that the issues raised in this writ petition is squarely covered by the judgment of a Coordinate Bench of this Court in W.P.No.201133/2017, where certain guidelines were issued as to the manner of conduct of activities in such recreation clubs. 5. In that view of the matter, this writ petition is disposed off on the same terms as contained in W.P.No.223449/2020, 226546/2020 and 202463/2017. 6.
