1.GP FOR SERVICES III The Court made the following ORDER: Heard Sri S.Jagadish, learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri Sarath, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Services for the respondents 1 to 3. The above writ petition is filed to declare the action of the 1®‘ respondent in not considering the representation dated 02.08.2024 made by the petitioner seeking notional promotion to the next higher cadre, as illegal and arbitrary.
Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is in fact, eligible for promotion to the post of Executive Engineer. Since the representation of the petitioner is not considered, the above writ petition is filed.

4. At the hearing,
learned counsel for the petitioner confined his
arguments and urged this Court to direct the respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner (Ex.P.1). Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Services did not refute the said submission.

6. Indeed, directing the authorities to consider the representation is deprecated by the Hon’ble Apex Court in Government of India v. P.Venkatesh^ Since the writ petition is filed to consider the representation of the petitioner, keeping the writ petition pending will not serve any purpose.

8. Given the facts and circumstances of the case, the Writ Petition is
disposed of, at the admission stage with the consent of learned counsel on either side directing the 1 St respondent to consider the petitioner’s representation dated 02.08.2024 (Ex.P.1) and pass appropriate orders, strictly as per rules. No order as to costs. As a sequel, pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
