ORAL ORDER Learned Deputy Solicitor General of India who is present in the Court is directed to take notice for respondent Nos.1 and 2. Learned Additional Government Advocate is directed to take notice for respondent No.3.

2. Learned Senior Counsel Sri. K.N. Phanindra, appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has applied for re-issuance of a passport and thereafter filed an application before the learned Principal District Judge, Mysore, in Criminal Revision Petition No.38/2022 seeking to quash the proceedings initiated in PCR.No.692/2021 on the file of the IV Additional Civil Judge and JMFC, Mysore, and in the said petition, an application is also filed under Section 6(2)(f) of the Passports Act. 1967 seeking issuance of a no objection certificate to enable the petitioner to get the passport. However, the learned PDJ has adjourned the matter to 17.03.2025, calling for objections. Learned Senior Counsel submits that the petitioner has to travel to Japan on 15.03.2025 and no useful purpose would be served if the matter is called on
17.03.2025.
3. The learned Deputy Solicitor General of India submits on instructions that the petitioner would be entitled to a short-validity passport. Having regard to the

order of stay of the proceedings in Cr.No.6/2022 passed by the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Mysore, in the said Criminal Revision Petition by order dated 18.02.2022.

Consequently, the writ petition stands disposed of, with a specific direction to the 2nd respondent-Regional Passport Officer, to consider the application filed by the petitioner for re-issuance of the passport for short validity as submitted by the learned Deputy Solicitor General of India. The 2nd respondent shall pass necessary orders as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
