1. This is an ofÏce reference.
2. This Court, vide order dated 02.08.2024, passed in MCRC No. 5483 of 2024, while allowing the bail to the applicant, namely, Sadhna Kaser had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order, if there was no legal impediment.
3. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Ambikapur, District- Surguja (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 11.12.2024 has requested for grant of some more time for concluding the trial.

It transpires from perusal of the PUD, that currently, the prosecution has completed the statements of 06 witnesses and the main examination of the Investigating OfÏcer has also begun, with the remaining main examination and cross-examination pending. Further, the statements of 03 other witnesses are yet to be recorded. Regarding the witnesses whose statements are pending, continuous efforts have been made to get their statements recorded promptly. However, due to the prosecution's inability to ensure the presence of these witnesses on the scheduled date, their statements could not be recorded. The next dates for recording of their statements have been scheduled for January 3, 2025, and January 4, 2025, and bailable warrants have been issued against them. To ensure the service of the warrants, they have been sent through the Superintendent of Police, Sarguja Ambikapur. Separate memorandums have also been issued to them and copies of the memorandums have been sent to the Superientendent of Police, Sarguja Range, to ensure compliance. Hence, the conclusion of the trial is likely to take some time.
5. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is
directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of four months from today.
6. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction.
7. Registry is directed to send a certified copy of this order to the trial Court concerned for necessary information and compliance. Sd/-
