Issue an order or direction to the Presiding officer/Motor Accident Claim Tribunal (North), Distt.Meerut to expedite the hearing of M.A.C. No. 187 of 2023 (Shikha Jain and another Vs. HDFC(ERGO) General Insurance Co. Ltd. and others/u/s.166/168 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 pending before him and to decide the aforesaid claim petition within a stipulated period as fixed by this Hon'ble Court." It is contended by learned counsel for the petitioners that Motor Accident Claims Petition is pending consideration since 2023 before Motor Accident Claims Tribunal. As no useful purpose would be served in keeping the matter pending, or calling for counter affidavit or issuing notice to the private respondent, the matter is being disposed of, at the admission stage, with a direction upon Tribunal concerned to decide the pending M.A.C. No. 187 of 2023 (Shikha Jain and another vs. HDFC (ERGO) General Insurance Co. Ltd. and others) after hearing all the concerned parties, strictly in accordance with law, expeditiously, preferably within a period of four months from the date of production of certified copy of this order. With the aforesaid direction, present writ petition stands disposed of. It is made clear that this Court has not adjudicated the case on merits.
