Heard the parties.

The petitioner has made the following prayers in this writ petitioner:-
“a. For a direction upon the respondents to conclude the pending enquiry, which have been initiated by Charge Sheet dated 03.05.2017, in which certain allegations were made against the petitioner.”

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that suffice it would be if a direction is given to the respondents to conclude the departmental proceeding which was initiated against the petitioner in terms of the Charge-Sheet dated 03.05.2017 which is at Annexure-1 to this writ petition.

Learned counsel submits that since 2017, he is facing the rigors of the departmental proceeding which is yet to be

concluded.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that the departmental proceeding can be concluded as early as possible.

Considering the said submission and the fact that the departmental charge-sheet has been submitted in 2017 itself and the departmental proceeding is still pending. I direct the Enquiry Officer to conclude the departmental proceeding against the petitioner within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order to be communicated by the petitioner or by the counsel for the State.

It is made clear that since the order has been passed on the request of the petitioner, it is expected that the petitioner should cooperate and appear in the departmental proceeding, failing which, the Officer will proceed ex parte against him.

With the aforesaid observations, this writ petition stands disposed of.
