March 26, 2025 Sl. No. 35 Court No.34 s.biswas CRR 4800 of 2024 Goutam Das and others Vs. The Commissioner of Customs (Preventive), West Bengal Mr. Swapan Mallick Mr. Bikash Chandra Halder .. for the petitioners Mr. Bhaskar Prosad Banerjee Mr. Tapan Bhanja ... for the Customs Authority Report submitted by the opposite party is taken on record. It appears that by an order passed on 19th March, 2025, the seized boats have been confiscated by the authority. The authority has allowed redemption of the vessels on payment of redemption fine of Rs.1,24,000/- and Rs.62,800/- for the two boats respectively within three months from the date of issuance of the order. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners shall pay the said redemption fine for release of the boats without prejudice to their rights and contentions in the statutory appeal to be preferred under Section 128 of the Customs Act, 1962. In view of the above, this court is inclined to hold that since nothing further remains to be adjudicated in the present application, the same is disposed of. Urgent certified website copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon compliance of all necessary formalities. (Suvra Ghosh, J.) 2
