The tenure for the post of Principal is informed to be a subject matter of challenge before the Apex Court. The view expressed by the High Court that there cannot be a fixed tenure (five years) for the post of Principal is stayed by the Hon’ble Apex Court. 2. The issue is already subjudiced before the Apex Court. The prayer in the petition is for grant of tenure beyond the period of five years for the post of Principal. 3. In view of the interim order passed by the Hon’ble Apex Court, we deem it appropriate to dispose of the petition with liberty to the petitioners to approach afresh in case the Hon’ble Apex Court dwells on the controversy and decides the same in favour of the petitioners. 4. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. No order as to costs. (SACHIN S. DESHMUKH, J.) (NITIN W. SAMBRE, J.) Wadkar 2025:BHC-NAG:5732-DB
