1. This is an ofÏce reference.
2. This Court, vide order dated 24.06.2024 passed in CRMP No. 471 of 2020, while dismissing the petition of the petitioner, namely, Balram Kashyap, had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with KUNAL DEWANGAN Digitally signed by KUNAL DEWANGAN
2 law, preferably within a period of six months, if there was no legal impediment.
3. The learned Judicial Magistrate First Class, Raipur (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 02.12.2024 has requested for grant of some more time for concluding the trial.
4. It transpires from perusal of the PUD that in the present case, out of 13 prosecution witnesses mentioned in the original and supplementary charge-sheets, the statements of 8 prosecution witnesses have already been recorded. Furthermore, the cross-examination of 2 witnesses and the examination/cross-examination of 3 witnesses are yet to be done. Hence, the conclusion of the trial may take some more time, therefore, he prays for grant of some more time for concluding the same.
5. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is
directed to secure the presence of the witnesses in accordance with law to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of four months from today.
6. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction.
7. Registry is directed to send a certified copy of this order to the trial Court concerned for necessary information and compliance.
