The prayer in this writ petition is to declare and hold that non- promotion of the petitioner to the post of Deputy Collector, Gujarat Administrative Service, Class-I (Junior Scale)s was illegal and for issuing a direction to the authorities to promote him to the said post with effect from 4.9.2012 along with all consequential benefits. 2. Learned Assistant Government Pleader places on record a communication dated 25.4.2018, which, according to her, indicates that the petitioner has been granted the promotion with effect from 5.9.2012. 3. In view of the above submission, it is clear that the prayer of the petitioner has been granted by the respondents without the intervention of the Court. 4. Recording the said communication dated 25.4.2018, this petition is DISPOSED OF as having become infructuous. Rule is discharged.
