Sandhawalia , Chief Justice (Oral) In our considered view the present application has been rendered infructuous, since apparently the limited aspect on which we 1 Whether reporters of Local Papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 had issued notice, was whether the applicant’s service career might be adversely affected on account of the learned Single Judge having referred the matter for investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation. 2. It is not in dispute that the applicant as such was serving as a Superintendent of Police, Shimla and now has been promoted as Deputy Inspector General of Police on 23.01.2026. It was only on this limited aspect that we had issued notices on 05.06.2025 to the respondents to file a response. 3. In our considered opinion, once the applicant himself has been promoted, apparently the observations, which have been made under the judgment, which is sought to be appealed against never weighed with the State and, therefore, in our considered opinion, the present appeal/application has been rendered infructuous and is accordingly disposed of.
