BEFORE THE NATIONAL LOK ADALAT Shanta Kanwar Vs. Karan Diwan Cr. Revision No. 620 of 2025 12.09.2026 Present: Petitioner Shanta Kanwar with Sh. Virender Singh Rathore, Advocate. Ms. Aruna Chauhan, Advocate for respondent. The matter has been referred for determination to the National Lok Adalat. Both the parties have voluntarily and amicably settled the matter with their free consent, will, volition and without any undue influence or misrepresentation. The parties have amicably settled the matter. As per settlement arrived between the parties, a sum of Rs. 1,75,000/- is lying deposited before the learned Trial Court and sum of Rs. 4,75,000/- is lying deposited before the Registry of the Hon’ble High Court. This amount was deposited by the petitioner and the respondent is agreed to settle the matter finally and in view of the settlement, the amount which is lying deposited before the Registry of the Hon’ble High Court i.e. Rs. 4,75,000/- and Rs. 1,75,000/- lying pending before the learned Trial Court is agreed to be released to the complainant Karan Diwan as full and final settlement of the matter. Accordingly, the matter stands finally settled. The parties shall be bound by the terms and conditions of the agreement as agreed. The terms and conditions of the settlement as above have been explained to the parties/counsel, which they have accepted as correct and appended their signature in evidence of the settlement. Members have also counter signed it. The compounding of the offence shall have an effect of acquittal. Accordingly, the petitioner-accused stands acquitted of the offence punishable under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act. Since the parties have adopted cost effective and speedy disposal of the matter, before the National Lok Adalat, therefore, it is not expedient to impose any cost for the settlement. The amount be released to the respondent/complainant on filing particulars before the Registry of the Hon’ble High Court and also before the learned Trial Court. Copy of order be supplied to the parties free of cost. File be sent to the Registry of the Hon’ble High Court for doing the needful/consignment. RO/AC (Prem Pal Ranta) Presiding Officer (B.M.
