The petitioner who was released on parole for performance of his brother’s marriage on 16.1.2025, by the order dated 9.1.2025, on 11.1.2025, by a period of 15 days seeks extension of that parole on the ground as reflected in the application of Satya Narayan Pooja to be performed on that count on 9.2.2024. The regular parole can be granted, only for the reasons, as stated in Rule 13(i). This has already been availed of by the petitioner. The amended Rule 18 as amended w.e.f. 2.12.2024, mandates that parole shall not be extended beyond the sanctioned period under any circumstances. Since the petitioner has already availed the parole for the purpose of marriage of his brother which has already been performed, the seeking of extension of the parole to attend the satya narayan pooja which cannot be a reason for extension, the petition is dismissed.
