THIS PETITION, COMING ON FOR PRELIMINARY HEARING, THIS DAY, ORDER WAS MADE THEREIN AS UNDER: CORAM: HON'BLE MR JUSTICE R DEVDAS ORAL ORDER The petitioner, an advocate appearing in person, has sought for directions to the High Court to issue notification enabling service of summons through email at Commercial Courts through out the State and to issue a writ of mandamus directing the High Court to frame rules to enable service of summons through email in all commercial courts in the State. - 3 - NC: 2025:KHC:8277 WP No. 12426 of 2023 2. During the course of this proceedings, several directions were issued by this Court to the learned Registrar General in the matter of framing rules to enable service of notice and summons through email. 3. The learned counsel for the respondents has today filed a memo along with a gazetted notification enabling framing of rules with regard to service of summons, notices etc., through email. There are three notifications issued which will enable this Court and all courts and tribunals in the State to issue summons, notices and processes through email. The details of the three notifications are as follows: 1. Code of Civil Procedure [Karnataka High Court Amendment] Rules, 2024. 2. The Karnataka Courts - Service of Summons/ Notices/ Processes/ Documents (Civil Proceedings) by Electronic Mail Rules, 2024. - 4 - NC: 2025:KHC:8277 WP No. 12426 of 2023 3.
