The prayer made in this writ petition is to issue a direction to the respondents to quash and set aside the final selection list and waiting list along with letter dated 27.12.2016 by which the qualifying marks for females was reduced in General quota. The second prayer made in the writ petition is to issue a direction to the respondents to prepare two lists; one for Automobile Engineer and another for Mechanical Engineer. 2. This Court while entertaining the writ petition had admitted the writ petition on the ground that some of the prayers were similar to the prayers sought for in Special Civil Application No.21988 of 2016. However, as regards the grievance of the petitioner that the candidates with educational qualification of Mechanical Engineer could not have been considered against the post of Automobile Engineer, this Court had rejected this claim, but had adjourned the matter since the other prayers were being considered in Special Civil Application C/SCA/1864/2017 ORDER DATED: 08/07/2025 No.21988 of 2016. 3. Learned Assistant Government Pleader places on record the copy of the decision rendered in Special Civil Application No.21988 of 2016 wherein this Court has disposed of the writ petition in the following terms: “18. On the bedrock of the foregoing observations and the analysis, the impugned decision dated 26.12.2016 and the subsequent action of the respondent state of reducing the cut off marks after the completion of the selection process, are quashed and set aside. The respondent authorities are further directed to prepare the select list and wait list as per the cut off marks and norms prescribed in the advertisement. Necessary orders shall be passed in terms of the direction issued by this Court within the two months from the date of receipt of the writ of the order of this Court. The petition succeeds. 4. In the light of the disposal of Special Civil Application No.21988 of 2016, this writ petition would not survive for consideration and hence, it is DISMISSED. Rule is discharged.
