By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, petitioner has prayed for a direction to the authority concerned to offer her compassionate appointment on account of her husband dying in harness on 21st July, 2020. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in above regard petitioner has already approached the authority by making representation on 3rd December, 2021 but no decision has been taken in the matter till date. Learned Standing Counsel submits that respondent No.- 2 is the competent authority in the matter who may be directed to consider the grievance of the petitioner who may decide the representation of the petitioner strictly in accordance with law. In view of the above, this petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.- 2 to look into and consider the grievance of the petitioner and decide the representation of the petitioner dated 3rd December, 2021 strictly in accordance with law within maximum period of two months from the date of production of certified copy of this order. It is further provided that in the event claim of the petitioner is found to be rightful and genuine, she shall be offered compassionate appointment within a further period of six weeks.
